FRESH*13: Mikky Ekko

While he's been bothering the outer edges of the blogosphere for some time now, a feature on a new single by Rihanna means that things are about to blow up for Mikky Ekko. The track Stay is scheduled to be released as the second single from Rihanna's brand new album Unapologetic, and will therefore expose Ekko to a very large audience indeed.


Not a bad introduction for Ekko's debut solo album, which he is currently working on and should see a release next year. Ekko's style is an edgy mix of hip-hop and electronica with his ethereal vocals gently layered over the top, putting him in the same league as artists such as Active Child, How To Dress Well, and The Weeknd.
