Aiden Grimshaw would have to go down as one of the least X-Factor-y types of contestants The X-Factor has ever produced. Grimshaw was intense, awkward, and horribly shy and self conscious, but despite this, he had the markings of a true artist. He ended up placing ninth in the 2010 UK series - probably a good thing, as it means that his association with the show may be largely forgotten. Grimshaw's debut single, the drum 'n' bass club-banger Is This Love? charted at number 35 in the UK earlier this year and was considered a flop, and now it is on to single number two to save the campaign. Curtain Call is a gospel-tinged, trip-hop-inspired, mid-tempo song that sounds fresh and different to anything else on the radio at the moment. The single will be released on August 12, while Grimshaw's debut album Misty Eye is scheduled for release on August 20.
